Providing an alternative to traditional religious education

Our Special Needs program started to meet a need for an alternative to the normal 90 minute religious education structured class that wasn’t meeting the needs of some of our students.  We began to see that some students had issues that needed to be addressed in a more individual setting where we could adapt lessons and the environment to their particular strengths.

We currently are meeting the needs of students with learning disabilities, autism, environmental challenges, and Down’s Syndrome. We adapt individual lessons to meet the strengths and to see personal growth in each of our students. Our current ratio is one teacher for every student. Children are welcome to enroll in the program at any time and they can exit the program and enter into the traditional religious education setting when their needs have been met.
