Spirituality and Worship Commission The goal of this commission is to involve the parishioners in volunteering their time and talent to develop and implement liturgical and devotional celebrations. Music ministries seek to glorify God and edify our parish worship through the sung word. We honor our sacred heritage and embrace the documents set forth by the Second Vatican Council. Please contact Joyce Harris if interested in participating.
Group roles include: - Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion minister by serving the Body and Blood of our Lord during the Mass. - Adult Choir / Contemporary Choir / Youth Choir / Hand Bell Choir leads the community in song and hymns providing a variety of selections which add to the solemnity of the celebration. Their music ranges from contemporary Christian music to the more traditional songs, hymns and psalms. New members are always welcome. - Art and Environment Committee members are concerned with the physical environment of the worship space (church). Those who have a sense of liturgical symbols, are artistic or just want to help are encouraged to consider involvement with this group. - Lectors (Ministers of the Word) proclaim God's word to the congregation at Mass through readings taken from the Old and New Testament. - Ushers offer hospitality to those who come to worship, take up the collection and assist people as needed at Mass. - Sacristans prepare the altar linen, sacred vessels, and take care of the sacristy and sanctuary. - Ministers of Care bring Communion to the sick in their homes or at nursing homes. They visit and pray with the sick or homebound. |
